Rent payment reporting consent
1. Purpose of reporting
LocaCredit collects your rent payments and transmits them to a credit bureau (Equifax) so they appear in your credit file. The goal is to allow your rent payment history to be considered in the assessment of your credit score.
2. Categories of information involved
- Your first and last name
- Your residential address (rented dwelling)
- Your monthly rent amount
- The payment period (month and year)
- The payment status (paid, late, unpaid)
3. Intended recipients
The collected information is transmitted to Equifax, a credit bureau, as part of the reporting of your rent payments. No other third party receives this information without your explicit consent, except as required by law.
4. Eligibility and processing conditions
To be eligible for reporting, you must have a valid lease registered in your LocaCredit file, an active subscription, and submitted rent declarations with payment proof. Processing begins only after your subscription is activated and your file is confirmed.
5. Voluntary nature of consent
Your consent is voluntary. You can build your file and use LocaCredit services without authorizing the reporting of your rent payments to credit bureaus. Refusing reporting does not prevent you from accessing your dashboard or managing your documents and declarations.
6. Refusal and revocation
You can refuse reporting at the time of registration, or revoke your consent at any time in your account. Revocation suspends the reporting of new payments. It does not remove information already transmitted to the credit bureau.
7. Consequences of these decisions
If you authorize reporting, your eligible rent payments will be transmitted to Equifax. If you refuse or revoke, no new payments will be transmitted. Information already transmitted may remain in your credit file according to the bureau's rules.
8. No guarantee of credit score improvement
Reporting your rent payments does not guarantee an improvement in your credit score. The effect on your score depends on all the information in your credit file, your overall financial history, and the credit bureau's assessment methods.
9. Data retention and individual rights
Your information is retained according to the terms applicable to your LocaCredit file. You have the right to access your information, correct it, and request account closure. To exercise these rights, contact LocaCredit via your dashboard or in writing.
